KDOR Confirms No Extension on June 15th Deadline
While much speculation has surrounded whether the June 15 estimated tax deadline would be extended, Kansas Department of Revenue (KDOR) Secretary Burghart has confirmed the June 15 deadline will be upheld. The Kansas Society of CPAs issued a letter to Secretary Burghart on June 1, urging him to postpone the due date to July 15. Just this morning, Secretary Burghart provided the following response to the KSCPA:
“The decision has been made to NOT extend the June 15 estimated tax payment deadline to July 15.
I am aware that some members have received conflicting information directly from the KDOR, unfortunately. Feel free to reach out to the Department of Revenue with additional questions or concerns.”
We advise you to make any necessary estimated tax payments by end of day Monday, June 15 to avoid any potential penalties.
