Experienced Professionals to Help Your Not-for-Profit

Assisting with nonprofit financial statements, tax returns and more

Whether you lead an established not-for-profit organization that’s been around for a long time or you’re testing the waters to start a new one, we can help. Our clients operate in many areas of the not-for-profit world, and some have been with us for over 30 years.

Because of the experience we’ve gained working with our nonprofit clients, we’re able to help them in many different areas. Newly-formed organizations come to us for help with filling out the application to become an IRS recognized nonprofit. Large organizations come to us when they need a nonprofit audit or review. We support organizations of all sizes with nonprofit tax returns (filed on Form 990) and calculating unrelated business taxable income (UBTI or UBIT). We also help publicly supported charities monitor and project their revenue for purposes of meeting the public support test, and we act as internal accountants and payroll processors for some organizations.

Our nonprofit clients benefit from seminars and education to help them stay up-to-date with new accounting and reporting requirements.

Regardless of the size or history of your organization, we can help. Contact Stacy Smith or Lori Pittman to learn more about our not-for-profit organization practice.

Washburn University Alumni Association and Foundation has been a client of Mize since 2004, and they have provided invaluable assistance. The knowledge and professionalism of their staff provides reassurance to our Board of Directors as to the financial position and integrity of the organization. Their ability to provide insight of accounting proclamations and standards has provided great assistance to the financial staff without compromising their independence.
