Mize CPAs: A New Chapter After 50 Years in Townsite Tower
For over 50 years, Mize CPAs has proudly called the Townsite Tower its home. In fact, we were the first tenants to move in when the building (then the First National Bank Tower) opened its doors in 1970. Over the decades, both the tower and our firm have evolved, with name changes, technological advancements, and a growing workforce reflecting the changing times. We’ve seen women establish themselves in the workplace, and technology evolve from typewriters to artificial intelligence. Just as the business world transformed, so too did Mize, growing alongside our clients’ ever-changing needs.
Now, after half a century of treasured memories in the Townsite Tower, it’s time for Mize to begin a new chapter. With our team rapidly expanding, we sought a space that could accommodate our growth and foster greater collaboration. After years of spreading our team over three separate floors, we wanted a space where everyone could work together under one roof. K1 Realty, owners of the Townsite complex, helped us find a larger, more dynamic workspace. K1 introduced us to the second floor of Townsite 2, located in the Townsite Plaza. Though unused for years and in need of a complete overhaul, we saw its potential.
Interior designer Beth Anne Branden was enlisted to reimagine the space, and soon agreements were signed, marking the start of an exciting renovation process. Our goal was to create a modern, comfortable workspace for our team—a place where people are excited to come to work every day.
A Space Designed for the Future
The new Mize office boasts several state-of-the-art features designed with both productivity and employee well-being in mind, including:

- Digital signage throughout the office
- An impressive coffee bar courtesy of Blue Jazz Coffee
- A fully equipped podcasting studio
- And much more!
The Move: A Team Effort
Moving over 120 employees into a brand-new space was no small feat. It required extensive planning, countless meetings, and Kansas Van & Storage for professional moving assistance. We tackled the move in three phases, beginning on September 6th, with each group welcomed into the new space by a celebratory party, complete with margaritas and lunch from Ta-Co. By September 27th, the entire team had made the transition.
Behind the scenes, our IT team—together with Alltech Communications—worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth digital transition. Every workstation was set up and all assets securely transferred, ensuring minimal downtime.
A New Beginning
Now, as we settle into our new office, we’re excited to welcome guests and show them around. After years of working on different floors, our team is already enjoying the enhanced connectivity and collaboration that comes from seeing colleagues from every department daily. In just a few short weeks, the energy in the office has already shifted, and our team feels more united than ever before.
We are deeply appreciative of firm leadership for making this investment in our future, and for creating an environment that’s not just functional but fun. The changes have reinvigorated our team, and we look forward to the exciting possibilities this new space will bring.
