Update: IRS will pay tax refunds during federal government shutdown
An update on our previously posted article…
The Internal Revenue Service has announced it will issue refunds to taxpayers even if the federal government shutdown extends into tax season. In previous shutdown situations, the IRS accepted tax returns but delayed paying refunds until the closure of the shutdown.
The IRS also confirmed that the tax filing season will begin on January 28. You can read more on the IRS website.
