DOL Issues FFCRA Leave Guidance

Employers across the U.S. are scrambling to comply with the newly enacted Families First Coronavirus Relief Act (FFCRA). The Department of Labor (DOL) has issued new guidance regarding employers’ responsibilities.

Business owners can find resources including the Employer Fact Sheet,  Fact Sheet for Employees and the Questions and Answers page.

These resources answer common questions including:

  • What is the effective date of the FFCRA?
  • What qualifies an employee for leave?
  • How are employees counted according to the 500-employee threshold?
  • When calculating pay due to employees taking leave, should overtime hours be included?

The DOL is also requiring employers to display this Employee Rights poster in their workplaces.

If you have additional questions regarding the FFCRA, contact your payroll provider and employment law attorney.
